Dietz Dolls Aviation Pinup Series
Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless & Christina
- © Britt Dietz -

Another 'Aviation Pinup Series' pinup featuring Christina and the Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless dive bomber! A new series featuring 'simple' type of aviation pinup using Army Air Force, Navy, and Marine aircraft ranging from fighters to transports to bombers. Each will feature a pinup with an aircraft and the matching US insignia for that aircraft. The background will also be themed to the aircraft's general colors. Introduced in 1940, the Douglas SBD Dauntless was a dive bomber and scout plane used by the US Navy and US Marine Corps during WW2. The Dauntless was operated from land bases along with aircraft carriers and is best known for its role in the Battle of Midway (June 1942). Nearly 6,000 Dauntless aircraft were build in four years of the war until the arrival of the SB2C Helldiver which replaced the Dauntless. The French and New Zealand Air Forces also operated Dauntless aircraft during WW2 through 1953. It was loaded with 2 forward facing .50 Cal Machine guns and two rear facing .30 Cal guns (that could be retracted into the aircraft).

The Dietz Dolls Aviation Pinup Series features World War 2 aircraft (called Warbirds) paired with a pinup model wearing authentic flight clothing to the 1940s era. Available for purchase in all sorts of different sizes including posters!
