Aircraft: Grumman F6F Hellcat
Another entry into the 'Aviation Pinup Series' featuring each branch of the US Military... featuring model Rachel, the US Navy, and the rock solid Grumman F6F Hellcat! With a first flight in 1942, the mighty Hellcat was produced between 1942 and 1945 with over 12,200 built. It was a rugged carrier aircraft serving with the US Navy as the front line Naval fighter during WW2. With a massive 2,000 horsepower engine shared with the Corsair and the P-47 Thunderbolt, this 9,200+ pound aircraft could travel 391 mph with a range of 945 miles. Both the Marines and Navy used the Hellcat along with Britain, France, and even Uruguay. After the war the Hellcat was replaced with the smaller and more maneuverable F8F Bearcat.
The Dietz Dolls Aviation Pinup Series features World War 2 aircraft (called Warbirds) paired with a pinup model wearing authentic flight clothing to the 1940s era. Available for purchase in all sorts of different sizes including posters!
