Dietz Dolls Military Pinup Series

A special pinup dedicated to someone special that the world lost in 2013: Patty Andrews. I had started to work on another pinup and was nearing the end when I read the announcement that Patty Andrews, the last remaining gal of the Andrews Sisters group, had passed away today. The Andrews Sisters were part of the crucial star singers of the 40s that took America through World War 2. Be it having some 'Rum and Coca Cola' or dancing to that famed 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy from Company B,' these three Sisters will be remembered through time for their musical harmonies, radio shows, collaborations with top names such as Bing Crosby, and their work in many movies during WW2. Patty Andrews was the leader, and often comical one, of the group with her vocals often taking the lead along with her song writing. I always have the Andrews Sisters playing while I shoot pinups, and often when I'm working on them as well. I'm very thankful for their wonderful tunes! Today's image features a HAND colored shot of Rachel in this tribute to the passing of a classic trio of gals that sparked a new type of musical style!
The Dietz Dolls Military Pinup series celebrates the rich history of the United States Military during World War 2 with the Army, Navy, Army Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. Using authentic uniforms and equipment, this series is perfect for the military fan to hang framed on their wall!
